Bottom Paint & Antifouling

Slick, long-lasting bottom paint sized to your slip and use pattern.

Bottom Paint & Antifouling

Bay growth is aggressive. Pick the wrong paint and you'll be hauling out twice as often. We help you choose ablative vs. hard, copper vs. copper-free, and prep the hull properly so the new coat actually bonds and lasts.

What's Included

  • Pressure wash and growth removal
  • Sanding to sound paint or gelcoat
  • Barrier coat application (if needed)
  • Two-coat antifouling application
  • Waterline detail and boot stripe
  • Anode (zinc) replacement
  • Through-hull and prop antifouling
  • Drive and shaft prop-speed coating

Our Process

1

Haul + pressure wash

Coordinated through your local boat yard or our travel-lift partners.

2

Surface prep

Sanded, cleaned, and de-greased — paint only sticks to a clean substrate.

3

Two coats minimum

Color-contrast first coat so you can see when it's time to repaint.

4

Splash + zinc check

Final inspection before launch, all anodes replaced and bonded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to repaint my bottom?
In SF Bay, every 18–24 months for ablatives, 2–3 years for hard paints. Boats kept in slow-flow marinas like Loch Lomond or Petaluma may need a refresh sooner.
Ablative vs. hard — what's the difference?
Ablatives self-polish as you move — great for cruisers and weekenders. Hard paints are racier and harder to scrub but last longer for boats that stay in the slip more than they move.
